Fascinating story from the New York Times on how to improve your memory instantly.

After reading “Moonwalking with Einstein” by Joshua Foer, I tried the memory palace technique myself. It works. I’ve also taught the technique to about 30 of my friends. At first, not a single friend could memorize a random list of 7 items past the first 3 items. Most could only remember the first two items in the list.

After I taught them the memory palace technique (which takes less than 5 minutes), every single one of my friends remembered the entire list of 7 random items, and could recite the list backwards and forwards.

Try it. It works.
